Umierajacy Chrystus - Brzeska

Based on the painting by Andrea Mantegna Lamentation of Christ.
The original it’s a religious piece, quoted in all the art-books as the best example of introducing perspective in painting. Here it has a new meaning, It talks about the ethnic appropriation and distortion of the original subject.
The paste-up was made in Warsaw as part of a project Renaissance Street Art in which the meaning of well known, iconic pictures was challenged by contrasting it with the contemporary models and contemporary issues.
It's a photograph of the art piece in its urban location printed directly on an industrial aluminum board.

100x70cm Limited edition of 10.
