Street Art — Hackney Wick
We at Hookedblog headed along the canal out to Hackney Wick in East London yesterday to visit some friends with our camera in tow. With the London 2012 Olympics fast approaching and the Olympic Stadium and village just across the canal from the Wick, it is likely that the whole area will be scrubbed clean for the tourists just ahead of the games. If you get the chance be sure and visit the area before this happens. Here is a selection of the street art and graffiti that we captured.
UPDATE 10 February 2012:We have read reports yesterday via twitter, that the council have begun their clean up of the Wick already, with the yard next to Hackney Wick station having now been white washed. If this is the case hopefully the artists will use this blank canvas and hit back with some fresh new work.
