This week has seen the welcome return to the streets of London from Italian street artist Alice Pasquini. We last caught up with the Rome based street artist on her last visit way back in December of 2014 (covered here) when she painted a mural with Global Street Art which unfortunately has long since been painted over, but one of her smaller stencil pieces from that same visit is still visible in Hackney Wick.
Pasquini took to the streets of East London for a quick visit installing these two small scale one layered stencil pieces pictured, to which she builds up additional layers of colour using Posca paint pens. As far as we know there are only these two new works, it is possible we might yet discover some additional new work from the artist. Feel free to let us know if you spot any additional pieces.
This photo of the entire wall gives you an idea of the scale of the stencil piece, it you are having trouble spotting the piece here is a hint, it's in the bottom right hand corner of the door!!
Alongside her new street pieces Alice Pasquini will be showing some new gallery works here in London as she is one of a number of contemporary female street and urban artists taking part in a group show opening Thursday 4th February.
Titled XX: A Moment in Time, the group exhibition taking place at the Saatchi Gallery has been curated by Olly Walker with support from Yasha Young of Urban Nation Berlin. Taking over the Prints & Originals Gallery space at Saatchi Gallery, the show will consist of works from a selection of emerging and established artists from around the globe, many of whom are exhibiting in the UK for the first time.
The artists featured in the exhibition include Aiko (Japan/USA), Alice Pasquini (Italy), Caratoes (Belgium/Hong Kong), Crajes (Spain), Elle (USA), Faith 47 (South Africa), Handiedan (Netherlands), Hera (Germany), Hueman (USA), Lora Zombie (Russia), Madamoiselle Maurice (France), Marina Zumi (Argentina), Martha Cooper (USA), Mimi S (Germany), Miss Van (France), Olek (Poland), Sandra Chevrier (Canada), Vexta (Australia) and Zabou (France).
The exhibition is open from the 4th February until 6th March 2016.
