MadC hits London
With the London sun finally making an appearance yesterday we headed up City Road to catch up with the super talented graffiti artist MadC aka Claudia Walde. The artist has been in London town the last few days to promote her new book
Street Fonts — Graffiti Alphabets from Around the World as well as paint some walls!
MadC was taking a well deserved paint break when we met up with her, having completed work on a massive wall space (4m x 25m) on the corner of Wenlock Road and Windsor Terrace, between Angel and Old Street. This impressive piece is the first of 3 or 4 other pieces the artist plans to paint over the next few days in the same spot.
The Street Fonts — Graffiti Alphabets book published by Thames and Hudson was released at the end of February and features custom made alphabets created by 154 artists which Claudia collected and compiled over the last two years. You can read our review of the book here.
If you fancy seeing MadC in action then we suggest you get yourselves into central London on Saturday 9th April as the artist will be painting live at London Graphic Centre from 11.30am. She will also be signing copies of the new book from 3pm also at the same venue.
London Graphic Centre | 16-18 Shelton Street | Covent Garden | London
