Our friends over at Fifth Wall TV managed to get in touch with London based Australian street artist Jimmy C, aka James Cochran. They spoke to the artist who is currently in Adelaide over Skype earlier this week for a chat about the recent attention his mural of the late, and great, David Bowie has been receiving since the death of the singer was announced early Monday morning.
The mural painted by Jimmy C back in 2013 (covered here) on the side of Morley's department store opposite Brixton tube station was created to coincide with the David Bowie exhibition at the Victoria and Albert museum here in London. Following Monday's news the mural has been transformed into a shrine by grieving David Bowie fans who have turned out in their thousands to lay flowers and candles at the mural base. The site also became one of the focal points for an unofficial street party held in Brixton on Monday evening by Bowie fans celebrating his life and music. Check out Fifth Wall TV's video shared below.
