Downloadable Walking Tours
Invisible Paris walks are a series of self-guided tours to the city that grew from the Invisible Paris blog. Organised according to themes, they take you parts of the city you may not normally explore. Visitors to Paris rarely venture out of the main tourist zones, and city locals often find themselves following familiar routines. Exploring new areas can sometimes be complicated, simply because you are not sure where to go or what to look for. With this in mind, I created three walking tours in three rarely visited parts of the city, with instructions on both what to see and how not to get lost! The WalksThe three walks are the following:- From Saint Rita to Saint Lazare. A trip into the female experience of the city: Wandering through the middle ages up to the modern day, this walk shows how women have managed to survive and find their place in a city dominated by men.
- Contemporary Architecture: a walk that takes you away from the city's dominant neo-classical model to areas - on both sides of the river - where an interesting and varied selection of buildings has been allowed to develop.
- Street Art - The Paris Cityscape as an Open-Air Gallery: where you'll find the best creations on the streets of Menilmontant and Belleville.
Each walk is available in PDF format as a free download. However, for a small fee, you can also download the walks for use on smartphones and tablets. These can be found via the following links:Enjoy the walks!
