During our recent visit to New York we took the opportunity to head over to Coney Island and visit the Coney Island Art Walls. Jumping on the subway on a moody overcast morning we were pleasantly surprised pulling into the Coney Island Subway station to see that the large scale Os Gemeos mural that greets you on exiting the station was still running and not looking too bad considering it's location by the sea. We first discovered this mural back in 2011 when we were in town with Sweet Toof for his show at Factory Fresh Gallery, making the long train ride hungover following the gallery opening to see this along with some of the Steve Powers hand painted signage, many of which have unfortunately been replaced.

The Coney Island Art Walls is a public/ private outdoor mural project presented by Thor Equities and curated by Jeffrey Deitch and Joseph Sitt, featuring the work of 34 celebrated artists including many legends such as Crash, Daze, Futura, Lady Pink and Kenny Scharf, as well as work from many others including: Shepard Fairey, Maya Hayuk, How and Nosm, Tatyana Fazlalizadeh, Lauren Halsey, Skewville, Ron English, Jesse Edwards, Irak, Ben Eine, Lady Aiko, Buff Monster, Miss Van, Jason Woodside, eL Seeds, AVAF, Mister Cartoon, Jane Dickson, Marie Roberts, Greg Lamarche, Katsu, Retna, ROA, Kashink, Kaves, Lauren Halsey and Yok & Sheryo. Have a look at some of our photos from our visit below.
