December — Events / Exhibitions


As we say goodbye to November and we head into the run up to Christmas the number of exhibitions, christmas fairs and group shows steadily increase. In efforts to keep you our readers informed we have compiling a list of some events / exhibitions you might want to check out over the forthcoming weeks and put into your diaries. We will continue to add to this list as the month goes on.
Lazarides The Outsiders Space kicks off their Winter Exhibition this Thursday 2 December with two shows. On the ground floor cult cartoonists Modern Toss present the 'Seasonal Nik-Nak Hut', featuring their unique brand of precision swearing and stylishly cack-handed drawing, an incredible range of top notch, limited edition prints, interactive art pieces and assorted, hilarious paraphernalia. The lower floor of the space will feature a selection of works from a number of artists they plan to workmore with in 2011, including Sage Vaughn, Gary Taxali, Nina Fowler, Bella McTiernan, Adam Bricusse, Tommy Boureaux, and Zoe Hutchinson.

Pure Evil gallery are hosting an international group exhibition entitled '3'. The exhibition will be happening in 3 galleries in Paris, London and Los Angeles. Each artist brings 3 pieces for each show. There's no curation, there's no wordy intellectual press release theres just 3. 3 London will betaking place in a temporary gallery space. Opening Thursday December 2nd from 6 till 10 pm and running until the 31 December 2010.

After a year spent staging pop up events in temporary locations, LAVA Collective announce the opening of LAVE Gallery in Kingly Court. They will be selling originals and prints from their international network of artists. They will also be using the gallery as a base from which to to co-ordinate a new series of pop up shows in vacant shops throughout the Soho area.

The grand opening of LAVA Gallery is on Saturday 4 December from 2pm onwards. Their opening show will feature artwork by; Ashes 57, Bruno 9li, Jo Peel, Stik, Neck Face, Swoon, Vhils, Cleon Peterson and Kill Pixie.
