David Walker's 'A Blank Canvas is a White Flag' in London

David Walker

Earlier this year we caught up briefly with artist David Walker as he was putting the finishing touches to this colourful mural on Rivington Street, in East London. Created in his signature multi-layered style and working with only spray paint, the artist created this photo realistic portrait which is still to be seen on Rivington Street's Bedroom Bar.

Based in Berlin since 2012, Walker will return to the city where he first made his mark with a major solo show entitled ‘A Blank Canvas is a White Flag’ which will feature a major new body of work including paintings, sculptures and editions. For this his first London gallery show in three years, Walker will present a fresh new take on his signature portrait style in a show named after a mantra coined by the artist himself; which refers to the creative battle an artist wages to create work in today’s climate in the face of conspiring forces both internal and external.
