CANCER SELL AUCTION TONIGHT

Over 100 street artists from around the world have donated their work to the London based ‘Cancer Sell’ exhibition with opens tonight 31 July. The exhibition has been put together by street artist Kelly Grimble of Beautifully Urban to raise funds for Cancer Research and Florence Nightingale Hospice.

The exhibition is of particular personal significance for Kelly as her mother died from breast cancer in 2007, ‘I wanted to give something back, to thank the incredible people that looked after my mum, as well as raise funds for research into a disease that affects absolutely everyone,’ says Kelly. ‘The street artist community is a close knit one and I have been overwhelmed by the phenomenal response, generosity and kindness of the artists.’

The exhibition will showcase work from new street artists, many exhibiting for the first time, alongside established names. As well as spray paint based art, artists have contributed photography, sculpture and vinyl for free. All the work will be available for purchase and all proceeds will be donated to cancer charities or to a charity nominated by the artist.

The exhibition runs for one day, 31st July 2008 at 98 Leonard Street, a disused shop in Shoreditch that will be transformed into a space for the exhibition.

This looks set to be a fantastic evening for a great cause and definitely not to be missed if you are in London this evening and free.
